Fundraising
The playgroup has an active committee that organises regular events to raise funds which enable us to keep the group affordable for all families and support the development of the playgroup by buying new resources and sending staff on essential training courses. These funds are essential to keep the playgroup running and to ensure the children have the resources they need. The committee also applies for grants to support our activities whenever possible. For many of our fundraising events we work jointly with the Friends of Orchard Nursery, Tibberton Toddler Group or the school PTFA.
Past events include Toy Sale, Christmas Party, Barn Dance, Ladies Night, Children's Fashion Show, stall at Tibberton Flower show in August, Stall at Newent Onion Fayre and Halloween cake stall. We are always looking for new ideas for fun, social ways to raise money for the group and welcome ideas from all parents and carers.
In October 2009 we held a 40th Anniversary Party to celebrate the founding of the group in 1969 and its continued operation.
The combined success of the raffle, quiz sales and ticket sales made a grand total of over £500 for the group. We also invited one of the founders of the group, Mrs Jenny Tydeman to join the children and celebrate this landmark by planting a tree kindly donated by Trioscape Garden Centre.
